Idgie Threadgoode, named after the character from Fannie Flagg's "Fried Green Tomatoes" came to us from a severe neglect situation. Her picture was posted to our Facebook page, and caused such an uproar that we bypassed our normal procedures and had her surrendered to us. When she came to us, she had a severe flea infestation (and allergies to them), demodex mange and was malnourished. She's since been cured and has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and is heartworm negative. She's also overcome her fears and become a loving family companion. She's still shy around strange males but DOES warm up given time. She lives with other dogs, large and small, cats and a very active toddler. She is an active girl, needed a lot of exercise but also very content to cuddle on the couch with you. She isn't very big, under 40 lbs and we believe she's a bull terrier (possibly miniature) mix. Her tail is docked but her ears are naturally erect and FABULOUS! The bald spot on her side is filling in, but may never become fully furred from the scar tissue...but it doesn't detract from her beauty.
